Kalbarri - Nature's Window and the loop walk

Dear walking friends,

At 8am in the morning Laura and Charlotte walked over to the car rental to pick up our car for the day. They arrived at the caravan park with this:

Great, huh? After a good breakfast we took on the unsealed road towards Nature’s Window.

There were quite a few people getting their picture taken at this famous spot. We also got our fair share of pictures there. Bastian didn’t wanted to get on a group picture and waited patiently for us to finish.

Then we took on the 8km Loop hike but we went clockwise instead of the usual anti-clockwise. This way we started with the sandy river banks where we took lots of pictures of the river and the cliffs.

Then we had to walk/climb the cliffs to get an amazing view across the river gorge.

After about two hours we stopped for lunch and then climbed the steep cliffs to the top. Despite the cold wind at times it was very warm with a perfect blue sky again.

The last 3 km we passed very quickly as we girls where quite exhausted. Bastian was still full of energy when we finally reached the car park at 2:20pm. Charlotte drove us over to the Z Bend where we had this view onto the river.

At 4pm we gave back the rental car and walked back to the caravan park to have a shower, use the FREE Wifi and have dinner (tuna salad and noodle soup). I got into the TV room to use the internet as it was VERY cold outside again.

Our next stop: Monkey Mia!

Yours Nature’s-Window-visiting-and-the-Loop-walking Stefanie
