Greetings
my friends,
On Friday
unfortunately we had to get up at 6am as well for breakfast. Jude had to find a
new spare tire and therefore she dropped us at the next spot for two hours and
not the usual one hour. From this Loch Ard Gorge you can see the other three
apostles which you cannot see from the main platform. There is also a beach
where it is safe to swim and a cave you can climb into with a dramatic story
attached to it when the ship named Loch Ard shipwrecked there.
We explored
the cave and then waited at the beach for Jude to come back. The water was
freezing cold, so only one Italian guy went swimming. Jude came back without a
new spare tire and drove us again to the 12 Apostles as they look completely
different at daylight but before we went on a helicopter flight over the 12
Apostles! Here just a few impressions of the flight.
Markus did
a video of the 10 minute flight and it was so great! My first helicopter flight
and in such a famous place in the world as well! Absolutely fabulous!!! We
walked to the apostles and then down a walking track to the beach of the two
other stacks.
At 12:40pm
Jude finally came back to pick us up and had a new spare tire. YEAH! Next stop
was a short rainforest walk and then we headed to Apollo Bay for lunch. At Cape
Patton we had a good view over the surf coast.
And after a
few more kilometers we stopped to spot some more wild koalas dozing in the
trees.
At about
6pm on the second day of our tour we finally reached the actual start of the Great
Ocean Road as we did the backward journey to avoid the big crowds.
But this
was not the end of the tour, we had several more stops at a lighthouse where a
TV series was filmed, Bells Beach the famous surfing beach and another stop for
wild kangaroo spotting.
Then we all
decided to take the shorter route back to Melbourne and skipping Torquay, so we
arrived back in the CBD at 9pm. Markus and I checked back into the Miami Hotel,
got a throughout shower and got to bed. We were extremely tired after these two
completely packed days literally on the road with heaps and heaps of great
things to see, explore and hear. The next day will probably be a quieter day in
Melbourne.
Yours

Na wenn das mal nicht alles super aussieht, viele liebe Grüße aus der schwäbischen Heimat, Claus
