On Thursday morning we made a quick escape from the mosquitos of the Merl campground down the Arnhem Highway.
After 40km we stopped at Malakuta to have breakfast but we didn't do the walk there as we wanted to visit Litchfield National Park. I drove the 250km to Litchfield and stopped first at the Termite Mounds.
We had a late lunch at 2:30pm. After that we drove on to the Buley Rockhole. Although we only wanted to have a quick look we decided to stay a bit longer and have a nice swim.
Thanks to Charlottes underwatercamera we took some nice pictures while in the water and also a video of a jump into the refreshing wet.
It was so nice there that I actually didn't want to leave at all! But we wanted to visit the Florence Falls. This is in dry season, imagine how it would be in wet season!
Charlotte went in for a short swim whereas I stayed dry. We drove the last 25km to the Wangi Falls campground where it was very full. We managed to get a small spot and where grateful for being able to stay outside for a while without mosquitos.
We had rice with carrots and beans again for dinner and got to bed at 8pm.
Our next stop the next day: Wangi Falls!
Yours in-Litchfield-swimming Stefanie
